Tree Project!
So we had this BIG giant Tree smack dab in the middle of our backyard, and it was making the grass into a mud pit because it was soaking up all the water, and the sun could never get to the grass as well. We have a septic tank, and were also concerned about the roots tearing into the tank and ruining it. It also made alot of needles fall onto our covered patio and it rotted out the roofing and it started leaking onto the back deck. So this project that we decided to take on, redo the porch. It either needed a new roof, or needed to be made into a deck, either way, PERFECT opportunity to take the dang tree down after almost 3 years of trying to find a good reason! We still hymmed and hawed trying to really decide if we wanted to, and at last, Decision was final!!! 
It made ALOT of wood. The rings that were counted was about 98 and that wasnt' even the lowest ring on the tree. We decided that we didn't want to pay any more, so we chopped the wood ourselves. Devin was out there almost everyday, and along with a few helpers... Papa Geoff (Dev's dad), Ben (good friend), Chase (little brother),Cameron (the next door neighbor), Jon, (friend), Troy, and then I was stacking all the wood.
Here is all the boys at work.
Devin left this mess in the backyard. It's another 90-10% done. Every project he has done, he gets about 90% way done with it and then quits at it. So 2 weekends ago, I spent a lot of time rolling this logs and debris out of the way. They were extremely heavy and I got really soar, but dang it, I did it!
This is pretty much all the wood that was chopped by hand. It's about 3 1/2 rows of wood. Trying to get it all sold now.
So, we got THAT project done, only to start on the new one, which is the deck. More picks to come!
