Baby Kitties Have Arrived

So last Sunday Mylee (our 1 and a half year kittie) had her babies. We unfortunatly had to leave her RIGHT before she started. She was pacing around the room going in and out of her box and meowing. She would also growel everytime she had a contraction. When we got home 5 hours later we checked on her and she had delivered what appeared to be 6 babies. (I was hoping for 4 just so they would be easier to get rid of, but lately god has has WAY different plans then what Devin and I have). I started petting Mylee and she got up to come see me. SURPRISE, there was one hiding. She had SEVEN, SEVEN baby kitties. Holly cow, what were we going to do now. Ugh. So we showed the neighbors (they already planned on taking one, but they are now taking 2) and we are keeping one, so that's 3 down and 4 more to go now. We ended up with 1 Grey striped (which the neighbor is taking) 2 PURE black (not a mark on them) 3 brown/black/grey tiger stripe (neighbor is taking one of those and we are keeping one) and 1 Tortie (like her mamma).

I touched them alot that night and Mylee got pretty ticked at me and refused to feed them. It was a battle with her for the next 6 hours trying to keep her in that room with them. We would close the door and she would claw at it for a while, and meow, and she even pushed the screen off the window and ecaped onto the back deck. We kept her in there overnight and during the day while we were at work. Eventually, she got back into the swing of things, and she now spends almost all her time with them. In one week I can't believe how much they have grown. They are already getting so cute and so soft. I check on them everyday to make sure they are all still breathing and still with us. She hasn't shown any signs in wanting to move them at all and I'm so happy about that.

Here are just a few photos of them, since when I pick them up they cry and Mylee doesn't like that.
This Tiger is personally my favorite!
This is the only Grey one.

Mamma and all 7 babies.

this has nothing to do with your post except that your nails reminded me of something:

all growing up, i remember being fascinated by your mom's nails. they were always painted and beautiful, just like yours!

cute kitties. i would totally take one if we lived closer.

love you. :)
